Improvisation
as a craft,
not a gamble.
One-on-one sessions that build the instincts performers actually use on stage — not theory, not templates.
What eight weeks actually looks like
Who this suits
Performers at any stage who want to stop planning every response and start trusting their instincts mid-scene. Some prior stage experience helps, but it is not required.
Session format
- 60-minute live sessions, twice weekly
- Scene work with real-time feedback
- Between-session exercises you can do solo
- Flexible scheduling around Darwin hours
Adaptation built in
Each week adjusts based on where you actually are, not a fixed syllabus. If scene work is clicking but emotional range is lagging, the next session shifts accordingly.
Skill build — cumulative progress
Progress is cumulative — each skill layer depends on the one before it. The chart reflects a typical arc, not a guarantee.
Experiences from the room
I had done improv workshops before but always left with a list of rules. This felt different — more like learning to listen than learning to perform. The sessions were uncomfortable in a useful way.
By week five I stopped trying to be clever and started actually responding to what was in front of me. That shift took longer than I expected, but the one-on-one format meant we could sit with it until it landed.
A note on pace
Eight weeks is enough to build real habits — not enough to become someone else. If you are expecting a transformation, this is not the right framing. If you want to understand what you actually do on stage and make it more deliberate, that is a reasonable goal for this program.
